Mortis kept focus on the road ahead as he zoomed on the highway on his red and black Ducati, his hair and coat blowing in the wind as he passed building after building. It was about 9:00 and the sun had already set on that summer night. It was such a hot day that the wind hitting his face and blowing through his hair came as such a relief. He hit a clearing on the highway and hit the brakes. He pulled over to the side of the road, where the elevated stretch of highway stood about 30 feet away from where he stood. He got of his motorcycle and walked closer to the side of the road. He placed one foot on the barrier of the highway and kept the other foot on the ground. There was something in the air tonight and he could sense it. Something big, something that would take the city that never sleeps by surprise. But no matter what, he was ready to give his life for the city that raised him
